Motilal Nehru College (Evening) established in july, 1965, is a constituent college of the University of Delhi. It is situated on Benito Juarez Marg, adjacent to the South Campus of the University of Delhi. Apart from imparting education in various courses of study the college emphasizes character-building of the students and inculcates the values of responsible citizenship in them. The Various College student societies/ associations, play a vital role in the academic life of the institution. These active departmental associations organize lectures, seminars and discussions for the benefit of student and teachers alike. The college also provides facilities for games like football, volleyball and badminton etc.. Numerous students of the college have won awards at the university, state and national level sports competitions. The college football team has performed well consistently and this year our college football team won the bronze medal in the Delhi University competition. This year also our college football team with first place in the competition won the S.A. Rahiem Memorial Trophy organised by Jamia Milia Islamia University. our College football team got first position in First Uttranchal Cup in Inter College Football Tournament. Our college Hockey team won the second IME Padamshree Memorial Hockey Tournament. Some of our Football/Hockey Tournament.
Our college football team player Mr. Ankit Sharma, B.A. (Prog.) 3rd year, is the first Indian Player who has signed an annual contract of Rs.1.25 Crores for the year 2011-12 with Rafen Club Europe (Cristobal F. C. Club of Spane). This year our student Mr. Abhimanyu Kumar has become an IAS ans also one of our Student Ms. Shalini Singh is doing Ph.D. from America.
Library and Computer Facilities
The college has a well equipped air conditioned library. The college library, containing more than 50,000 volumes on diverse topics, was enlarged and refurbished in 2008 and adds the latest books in all subjects to its growing collection every year. The college also started its E-Resource center with more than 40 computers in a new air conditioned hall adjacent to the library in 2008. In addition the college also boasts of a common commerce computer lab which places more that sixty computers at the disposal of the students and teachers.
